Silent Hills Officially Canceled Confirmed by Konami

Alonza here has been leading the charge on all the Silent Hills rumors & Silent Hills Rumor Update going around. Well, its been officially confirmed. In an official statement to Kotaku, Konami came out and said the following:

“Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles, however the embryonic ‘Silent Hills’ project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued.

In terms of Kojima and Del Toro being involved, discussions on future Silent Hill projects are currently underway, and please stay tuned for further announcements.”

This makes me a sad panda. I was really looking forward to seeing a new and improved Silent Hills along with Norman Reedus playing as the lead character. For nostalgia check out the Silent Hills PT video preview Eddie and I did below. It will be the closest we come to the game that will never be.

The Silent Hills P.T. will be pulled from the PlayStation Network this week, so go download it now if you want to see what might have been.
