Hit retro-platformer Mutant Mudds is set to release to a PC near you this coming Thursday, August 30th. The game, which first appeared on the Nintendo 3DS eShop in January, features 8-bit style graphics and music as you take control of a boy taxed with saving the world from the evil Mudd alien invasion. The PC version will feature 20 brand new levels specifically designed for gamers that have bested the main campaign, as well as on-line leaderboards to show off your best times. There has been no confirmation that these extras will appear on the 3DS version via patch, but the co-founder of developer Renegade Kid hasn’t ruled it out.
The game will be available via the special introductory price of $7.99 until September 5th, after which the price goes up to $9.99. Those of you that love to game on Steam can vote for the game to be released on that platform when Steam Greenlight goes live the same day. Mutant Mudds is one of my favorite games on the 3DS, so it’s good to see other people getting the chance to experience this top-notch effort. If you haven’t played it yet, it is highly recommended that you pick up the PC version this Thursday!
