We started off PAX East this year with a visit to The Behemoth booth. It was an excellent way to kick things off with a media breakfast and an exclusive look at their latest title Game 4.
Game 4 holds the tradition of a Behemoth title that includes excellent animation, art work, great music and a very comical entrance. Of course this game is narrated by Will Stamper (Who narrated BattleBlock Theater) and you experience some mystery, flair, and quite a bit of sarcasm. You need to rally your troops and prepare for battle through an apocalyptic wonderland of mystery, danger and delight. There is a variety of enemies you’ll encounter including sinister robots, deadly vampires and brutally adorable cupcake people.
This is a fast paced, turn based, co-op adventure. You’ll explore the world, fight enemies, quest, and find awesome loot. You can even customize your characters and recruit strange new species and people.
Game 4 is a strategic game of positioning. We were able to play a two part demo and it was very fun. We started off in a village and you are a hero and whoa wait, your house is getting burned down by some baddies and well you need to fight them and try not to die. I really don’t want to spoil things but I will say that you fight a swarm of bad evil doers, meet an interesting lady at a special castle and then you make your way to town to learn about the rest of the game features including customization, adding people to your party and more. Expect a lot of hours of gameplay both alone and with friends, if you have any.
Game 4 is coming to both Xbox One and later on Steam. The different play modes are single player, 2 player co-op, and up to 4 players for 2v2. This game is very fun and I highly recommend checking it out and purchasing it when it’s released..or else.
To top this experience off at The Behemoth booth, I had the opportunity to meet Tom Fulp, creator of Newgrounds.com and co-owner of The Behemoth. I also met the fabled Will Stamper of StamperTV. I thanked both of them for their awesome work, had an excellent conversation and even got a photo. PAX East definitely has some great things going on this year. Definitely keep an eye out for more news about Game 4 by The Behemoth as we’ll be sure to post some as soon as it pops up.
