Microsoft has trademarked….Battletoads?

Apparently, Microsoft has been acquiring a lot of new franchises and trademarked titles like Minecraft. This is a business strategy for Microsoft and they will keep doing it from reports I have read. Their newly acquired trademark is in fact the long drawn out joke of Battletoads and now Microsoft has the rights to the game in its entirety. Still to this day GameStop still gets prank phone calls about when will the new Battletoads game release or if they have it in stock. Maybe Microsoft did it just because or maybe they have intentions to release a new Battletoads game or re-release older games as HD ports. We will pay close attention to this and post more news related as it surfaces!
