Blizzard scraps Diablo III PvP mode, starts over

Have you heard about the new Diablo III PVP development from Blizzard? So Bad News first. Blizzard has scrapped the PvP mode because they weren’t happy with how it was turning out.

Lead Designer Jay Wilson wrote a dev diary in which he explained the concept of PvP in Diablo III and why Team Deathmatch wasn’t working. ” …we don’t believe Deathmatch is the experience we feel it needs to be in order to ship, so we will be shelving it for now and exploring other options…”

The Good News? Wilson said that the team is implementing dueling in the new year and has started work on a completely new form of PvP for the game. So they scrapped the old version and are starting over to redevelop a more superior version. This new mode will focus more on objectives and “possibly even integrate PvE elements and rewards.”

As far as people are raging about that this was implemented with the game, I say calm yourself down. You have the game in excellent shape now and they care so much about our PVP experience that they are catering what we ask for and are redeveloping it. This is all good news, its not dead its moving forward.
