It has long been rumored that Activision would like to charge a monthly fee for it’s Call of Duty franchise. Well it looks like they are finally going to do just that. According to the Wall Street Journal the fees will allow you special access to gaming stats and map packs. While it’s not mandatory that you pay to play online, this type of thing has a domino effect in the industry. If it catches on you can expect move publishers to do the same thing.
