The creator of Hustle Kings are back at it again.  Hustle kings had a lot of hoopla to go with that pool game, this time they have created a simple yet beautiful pool game.  Pure Pool is just as the name states, it is purely just playing pool along with different pool games and modes.  There’s a career mode, tournament mode, create a league and etc.  You can choose to watch pool games or participate.  Your able to level your player up which will just move you up the ranks from beginner to the eventual pro.

There is no story to the game whatsoever other than just playing pool.  The graphics to the game are fantastic, phenomenal, beautiful and all other amazing things you can say about it.  The game plays very smoothly from hitting the cue ball to connecting with all the other balls and ricocheting around flawlessly.  The music is like a light catchy jazz tunes.  There are a few songs on there but nothing spectacular but anything more would be too much.  It isn’t a bar scene so it is trying to stay classy and they succeeded.

The game gets pretty easy but if you are good at pool it feels just like the real thing.  It is in first person so looking at the cue ball to aim almost feels like the real thing which makes it easy.  It also helps depending on how far or close you are to your targeted ball that there will be an arrow assist to help you see where the balls will ricochet after you make your strike.  If you want to win then get good quick because the A.I. doesn’t mess up often but when it does then be sure to capitalize on their mistake or you will just end up with another loss.  The other games include 8 ball, 9 ball, timed pool and etc.

The Recommendation

If you love playing pool than get this game, it feels so real and it is good as playing pool in person.  If you are into button mashing then move on because this game is a game of patience and precision aiming.  The music didn’t make a huge difference but was definitely helpful it keeping it feel like a classy game.  I didn’t expect the graphics to be much but they are the mind blowing awesome.  The people in the background are a little blurry but it’s because you are focused on your table but them people look too damn real.  The only problem I truly have with this game is that you can’t speed up or skip the A.I.’s turn to play.  Instead you are stuck watching the whole time during their turn.  This is definitely a great game to play and relax or if your a billiards nut then you will be in heaven with Pure Pool.
