Welcome to the second topic on our Weekly Round Table Discussions. This week is the confessions of the crew regarding popular games that they may not have finished or even liked. While we are all avid gamers our tastes are incredibly varied and as you’ll see many of the most beloved recent video game releases did not go over well with some of us. Since this is my idea I’ll go first and feel free to laugh at our pain. We bear our souls for your enjoyment and welcome the ridicule.

I just want to point out this was a terrible idea and I wish I had chosen a different topic. I am a complete fool for doing the following things. Let the factory of sadness begin…
-As a child I traded in Super Mario Bros. 3 so I could buy The Simpsons: Bart vs. The Space Mutants. I know. I know. Just remember how dumb you were at 9 years old. It’s my favorite game of all-time and I threw it away for some back alley charlatan of a game. In my defense I had already beaten Mario 3 at least 5 times.
-I was so certain that the Sega Genesis was better than Super Nintendo (CAUSE “IT DOES WHAT NINTENDON’T!”) that I never finished a single SNES game until a lot of them had been released on GBA, PS1, and the Wii Virtual Console. Think of a great SNES game and I never beat it until damn near a decade after its release. Yup.
-As a teen I bypassed Metal Gear Solid on PS1 so I could purchase NFL Blitz. Remember in 1998 NFL Blitz was friggin’ amazing and MGS was a crazy Japanese guy’s game where a super soldier hid from highly trained and paid mercenaries inside of a cardboard box that he pulled out of his back pocket.

-I’ve never finished Pokemon X, any Silent Hill game, CoD Advanced Warfare-The only Final Fantasy I’ve finished 100% is 10
-Though a good game FF7 is highly overrated.
-I’ve never played Pokemon ORAS, Oblivion, Skyrim or Fable
-And even though I generally like horde mode type play I hate Call Of Duty Zombies.
-My favorite Resident Evil is the Wii version of 4. (Editor’s Note: Is that bad? That’s my favorite version of the game as well.)
-And up until about 2 months ago I had never played Fire Emblem.

Games I Have Never Finished
Any of the Disgaeas besides the first one. As much as I loved the series, I don’t have 200 spare hours for a single-player game.
Sacred 2 – I feel terrible about never beating this one.
Skyrim – After I did all the guild stuff I was so burnt out on the game that I never played it again.
Popular Games I Don’t Like
Super Mario Galaxy – I could see how I would’ve loved this game 20 years ago, but gimmicky puzzles don’t do it for me anymore. (EDITOR’S NOTE: HOW DARE YOU SIR?!)
Demon’s Souls/Dark Souls series – I simply do not have the time to get murdered that often for so little payout.
Games I Never Played
Halo (or, really, any Xbox exclusive), but not that I missed it
Minecraft
Any Final Fantasy after 7

Wow. This was just as bad as I thought it could be. The biggest surprises to me were the amount of Mario and Zelda games that haven’t been completed by these lovers of the Mustachioed Menace and Hero of Time. Elder Scrolls making almost everyone’s list when it’s previous 2 games have won so many awards threw me for a loop. Hopefully you laughed, yelled, or shook your fist at our confessions. Next week we will tackle “Remasters We Would Actually Buy” since there are so many of them being made we may as well get some enjoyment out of it.
