This morning Zen Studios announced Zen Pinball 2 will be releasing for the PlayStation 3 and Vita on September 4, 2012. When it appears in the PlayStation network it will be a free update for existing owners of Zen Pinball and Marvel Pinball. If you don’t own those games yet (and you should) you can still download the pinball hub along with free trial versions of all the tables before deciding to buy. Zen Pinball 2 will be a cross-platform entitlement title, meaning you pay once to play on both PS3 & Vita. Looks like it will have 26 tables and all your scores will carry over if you have the early games. In addition, early tables will get updated physics and new trophies. Sounds like a hell of a good deal to me.
Zen Studios also announced that a new table based on a PopCap game will be released alongside Zend Pinball 2 as DLC. This title will be revealed at PAX Prime later this month and will also be available on Xbox LIVE Arcade for Pinball FX2 on September 5, 2012.
