Senior Community Manager at Insomniac Games James Stevenson, came out today and released some screens to the anticipated title Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault and some juicy details about the game as well.
He noted that they were going back to the Ratchet & Clank roots of classic camera views, weapons and third-person gameplay that the series is very well known for. James also noted that they are adding a new feature that is kind of confusing gamers and everyone has a different opinion on. They are adding a “Tower Defense” element to the game. In essence you are building and defending a base against various invasions from the known baddies in the Ratchet & Clank universe.
Tower Defense sounds a little like PVP (Player versus Player) simulation gameplay. The wavering opinions come in at an angle of, will this distract from the story and original gameplay? Personally, this sounds like it could be cool and adds a little bit of variety to the game. Although to counter, “Bringing it back to the basics” this is kind of a step in a new direction. Either way, we are excited to see where its going.
Within the Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault game our heroes face off against a new enemy – one who has a doozy of a surprise planned for Captain Qwark. in game you’ll be able to choose between playing Ratchet, Clank, or Captain Qwark and confront and take on alien invasions across five levels set on three different planets. The cool thing is that the game will allow you to play with a friend co-op with split-screen, or online cooperative gameplay.
