So when Minecraft was released for the XBox 360, it was announced that it would have split-screen co-op, a very cool concept that not nearly enough games are doing. Well, they forgot to inform everyone that this functionality is missing when using a standard-definition TV set instead of a high-definition set (no word on if it works on EDTV, but I don’t think those even exist anymore).
Says Microsoft,
We updated our pre-sale notification to inform customers that an HD screen is required for the split-screen multiplayer feature on Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition,” said Microsoft in a statement. “If a player does not have an HD screen and purchased this game prior to the notification update, they are eligible for a full refund through customer support.
This notification has been added to its XBLA page, to make it clear to everyone thinking of purchasing this.
So if you’re one of the people playing Minecraft XBLA on your SDTV, you can get your 800 spacepoints back. Also, what are you doing using an SDTV? Dude, it’s 2012.
