Payday: The Heist developer bought, sequel in the works

Our recent review of Payday: The Heist was glowing (graphics notwithstanding), so this news comes on some interesting wings.  Payday developer Overkill Software was bought by Starbreeze, the guys who made Syndicate.  They’ve also promised a Payday sequel.

Really, for that game you could just release more maps, maybe an HD graphics pack, and everything would be fine – the game is great as it is.  But who am I to say you can’t start work on another one 6 months after the first was released?

Starbreeze also mentioned their work on upcoming titles P13, Cold Mercury, and another “secret” project that they refused to discuss.  Now I’m not one for conjecture, but I’ll bet it’s a browser-based social network game that you can buy tokens for.
