YouTube Gaming Launches

YouTube Gaming has launched.  This direct competitor to Twitch has all the backing of Google (Alphabet?  Are we calling it that yet?), along with record features and additional Google Universe integration.

Plus, it runs on HTML5 instead of Flash – which is great since Flash has so many zero-day exploits that you may as well wear a “hack me!” sign.

gaming.youtube.com is the place to go now – although it remains to be seen if the big competition events (Valve and Blizzard especially, with DOTA and League) will jump ship to the new service.  My personal thought is that they will – Twitch is slow, glitchy, and prone to Flash-related goofiness, such as being able to watch on mobile devices.
