Free To Play Friday – Ennuigi

One of my bucket list goals is to have a cup of coffee at the Cafe de Flore in Paris, where Jean-Paul Sartre and Albert Camus hung out and discussed their philosophies.  (moreso Camus, but that’s just me)

I’m pretty sure Ennuigi started here.

Less a game than a thought experiment on the feelings Luigi must have playing second to his more-famous brother, Ennuigi opines on his role as a force of destruction in the Mushroom Kingdom.  “I once tried to put a brick he had destroyed back together,” he ruminates.  “But it was all broken pieces and dust.”

Can’t walk left?  “There’s no going back.”

Ennuigi can’t run, he just dejectedly strolls.  He can’t jump – pressing up makes him think about who he was, and what he’s become.  Pressing down doesn’t crouch, Ennuigi takes a long, slow drag on his cigarette and ponders the weight of his (and his more famous brother’s) actions on his crumbling, sad psyche.

Ennuigi can be played here in your browser.
