Lizard Squad Hacker Convicted on 50,700 Counts

A Finn, Julius Kivimaki, “zeekill” on Lizard Squad, was convicted yesterday of 50,700 counts of hacking.

His sentence is two years of his internet connection being monitored.  Crime doesn’t pay, kids.

[The verdict] took into account the young age of the defendant at the time, his capacity to understand the harmfulness of the crimes, and the fact that he had been imprisoned for about a month during the pre-trial investigation…

Zeekill was found guilty of hacking MIT email addresses and tens of thousands of computers through an exploit in ColdFusion, which he then used with LS to run a botnet.  FYI Finland doesn’t extradite, so this is the definition of slap on the wrist.
