First Round of Free Splatoon DLC Released

So Nintendo is proving rather speedy with DLC content when it comes to their latest release on the Wii U, Splatoon. They have already made the Port Mackerel, an interesting arena map for the ink slinging title available just mere days after the game’s official worldwide launch this past Friday. This definitely looks to be a little bit of a change up in the sense that it looks a little more confined and close quarters type play, as opposed to the more open areas of the launch maps.

In addition to Port Mackerel, they’ve also made available a new weapon! It will definitely look familiar to those of us who grew up playing on the NES back in the 80’s and even to some that didn’t. Called the N-Zap ’85, this very retro inspired ink slinger boasts a high rate of fire while having a low ink consumption rate. Sounds fun, right? If Nintendo keeps up the momentum with these DLC releases, and keeps dropping them on us for free they will probably be more than able to quiet down at least some of the nay-sayers who have been saying that the game lacks content and was released in an incomplete state.

I for one am loving the idea of the N-Zap ’85 as it brings back some rather fond memories and being able to use it in game to spray everyone and everything with my lovely colour just brings me unimaginable joy that can only be expressed through infantile grunts and squeals.
