Stretchmo Now Available on Nintendo eShop

Fans of the Pushmo series of puzzle games can now enjoy the next installment on the Nintendo eShop for the 3DS handheld. At first we had only heard of it being released in Japan, but North American puzzle lovers can now get a taste as a free-to purchase download. It is a continuation of previous Pushmo games with new puzzles, mechanics and characters in which you push, pull and now even stretch blocks in order to reach your goal. Now, you’re probably wondering what is meant by free-to purchase. Basically what this means is that the game is free to download and you get the first few levels to play through. After that you’ve got a few options. You can buy individual puzzle packs or “attractions” or you can buy everything bundled together for the discounted price of $9.99. Below are the individual attractions, their details and pricing.

  • Mallo’s Playtime Plaza ($4.99): 100 progressively challenging levels that introduce the basics of the game.
  • Poppy’s Sculpture Square ($2.99): 50 puzzle levels shaped like animals and objects.
  • Corin’s Fortress of Fun ($2.99): 50 levels featuring new gizmo obstacles and enemies.
  • Papa Blox’s NES Expo ($2.99): A treat for retro fans that features 50 levels based on classic NES characters.

To be quite honest, that’s a rather hefty amount of content. AND there’s also a level editor included so you can create and share your own puzzles with your friends. It really seems like a win/win situation even if you’re just trying out the free portion of the game for the first time or you’re a returning fan of the series. Stretchmo is available May 14, 2015 for download exclusively on the Nintendo eShop for the 3DS family of handheld gaming consoles.
