Although Ant will yell at you profusely for saying so, Nintendo hasn’t been so hot lately. Console sales (DS aside) have been struggling, and their games are just weird (seriously, Tomodachi Life).
With that in mind, Nintendo has announced they’ll be producing games for your mobile devices – phones, tablets, etc.
“This will allow us to build a bridge between smart devices and gaming consoles,” Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said. “It doesn’t mean smart devices will eat away at gaming consoles, it will create an entirely new type of demand.”
They also announced the first game won’t be one of the big properties (Mario, Zelda, Metroid), so I guess we’ll see where they’re going with it.
