Enough is enough. When will be done with seeing remastered games? I understand that maybe a game that came out five to ten years ago will be remastered into high definition for the new generation consoles. That I understand and I can see the appeal for it but why are we getting remastered games that came out a year or two ago? That makes no sense to me. Are the remastered copies actually selling well enough to where there is a profit? I just don’t see why Microsoft and Sony can’t just make their systems true backwards compatible. It’s no doubt a shady selling tactic. With no remaster editions and no online streaming service for old games publishers could make all of the new systems backwards compatible so that the studios who work on these remastered games can create something new. With the amount of negative feedback almost every game that came out this holiday has either been too broken to even play or studios have delayed titles a ton and then released a mediocre game. With games like The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Dark Souls 2, Grand Theft Auto 5 and Saints Row 4 which all have their own greatness to them, I fear that this will be an ongoing trend and every gaming review website will have their own category for remastered editions for game of the year.
