Are you looking for some action packed adventure with robots then look no further.  Yorbie has all the gun blazing action you can handle and some semi funny one liners to go along with it.  The game is about saving Yorbia Prime from the evil Dr. Zox, who has enslaved all of its inhabitants and banished all the guardians.  You play as Yorbie taking on all the villains trying to take you out before you get to the computer mainframe.  During your adventure you will be able to scavenge components and bonuses from enemy bots, customize weapons and unlock additional playable characters including some bad guys.

Yorbie has 2 game modes of normal and insane.  Normal is pretty challenging and will keep you on your toes when all the evil robots come after you.  Insane game mode is just that, INSANE, with all the nonstop action of robots coming out and gunfire everywhere.  I was literally dying quite a bit on insane mode and it gets completely frustrating but is definitely challenging.  The dropped components and bonuses from the enemy also vary with the difficulty, the harder the level the more the stuff that can be collected.

The benefits of collecting these components and bonuses are that it allows you to upgrade your weapons.  First you will have to purchase the weapons except for the pistol you start with.  Each weapon will cost you a certain amount of the collected components.  Each weapon will also have upgrades that cost a certain amount of components and sometimes some of the bonuses picked up.  There are 3 boxes to upgrade each weapon and there are 3 kinds of upgrades to choose from.  You can pick whether to have the same upgrade 3 times or 1 of each or 2 of one kind and 1 of another.  You will choose whatever upgrades best fits your fighting style.  There are more powerful shots, more rapid shots and more ammo to be held at a time.  As you play and beat the levels and game you will unlock a few characters, even a few of the bad guys you face.

The music goes pretty well with the game but it becomes redundant.  The graphics are pretty good and definitely glitch free even when the screen is completely covered in gunfire on insane mode.  I liked the game but it was pretty repetitive and the boss battles were pretty lame.  The boss battles were the same until the final boss and that’s when it got somewhat challenging.  The last level had a pretty original and challenging factor to it as well.  Basically the controls go all haywire and backwards which gets confusing.  Same goes for the final boss, at certain points during the battle the controls go all crazy and get pretty difficult to handle.  The whole game was pretty simple game play but the last level and final boss added some challenge from the previous levels and boss battles.

The Recommendation

The game is challenging on insane and gives a gamer a battle.  Problem is that you can die an infinite amount of times so it doesn’t matter how good you really are in the game.  The jumping from platform to platform is a little off but luckily there are only a couple of major jumping parts throughout the game.  The levels are really long and feel like they are never ending while you are playing.  If you want a shoot em up kind of game than this is what you are looking for but don’t look for it to be too fun because it does feel very redundant after a little bit.  I enjoyed the game for a little bit at a time but was ready to quit playing fairly quickly.
