If you want the sh*t scared out of you then you hopefully have went out and bought Outlast and played it.  The whistleblower dlc is the prequel to one of the scariest and nerve wracking games I have ever played.  If you loved Outlast then be prepared because this dlc is gonna add to the horror you love and fear at the same time.  The game plays the exact same way, there is no combat, you basically solve the puzzles and run and hide before these maniacal freaks get their grubby claws on you.  Let’s not forget about his handy video camera that still needs you to keep finding batteries to help see in the dark.  In Whistleblower, you will play as Waylon Park, the man who sent the email that got Outlast going.

DLC1

Whistleblower will provide you with a different perspective of what had become of the asylum.  The visuals of the game are just as gory, vulgar and beautiful as its predecessor.  There are some parts that have a little more of graphic scenes than the previous horror, which I am definitely about but some others might not feel the same way.  The music still brings in that tension that keeps you on the edge of your seat worrying if your about to get killed or found.  All that is great but but I feel the main villains in the original are better than Whistleblower even though they are still something to be amazed about.

DLC3

The Whistleblower content is a great add on to the story and helps fix some previous missing issues.  The game has some added things to it to change up the scenery but for the most part you are still in the same rooms with the exceptions of a couple of areas.  The additional effects of the fog make it a little creepier and the batteries don’t seem like they last quite as long either.  There were some corridors that sucked though because it seemed like the hallways were smaller so while trying to run from the psychos I could not get past them but other than that it was just as straight up as the original.

DLC4

The Recommendation

If you loved the first Outlast then most likely you will go out and buy this game.  I love blood, guts and gore and this game continues what it started and adds a scene a little more than wanted.  The Whistleblower DLC is the same gameplay with a different outlook on the asylum and it adds more depth to the original Outlast.  Again, if you loved outlast and I am sure most people did, you should download this game.  If you fear creepy games at night, then go download this game and play it during the day.
