Dragon Quest XI Announced

Last night during the Dragon Quest conference held in Japan, Square-Enix announced Dragon Quest XI. According to the press release Dragon Quest is currently in development for the PS4 and 3DS,with hopes to launch in time for the series 30th anniversary next year. Dragon Quest originally launched for the Famicon (NES) in 1986. There are no mentions of a western release, but given the success of the PS4 and 3DS I would be surprised if it didn’t sooner or later. They are also planning on having the title release simultaneously for both platforms.

It also looks as though Dragon Quest XI is also under consideration for the Nintendo NX which is interesting as we know next to nothing about the system. But apparently Square-Enix knows more than enough to consider an NX version. This is also the first time we have heard a major third party discuss the system in public.

Lover of all genres and systems though admittedly a HUGE Nintendo fan. I'm all about the joy and fun the experience of playing a videogame brings. I say "Play games not systems". -Someday you will be old enough to start playing Nintendo games and reading comic books again- Me.
