Valve and Bethesda Team up to charge for Skyrim Mods

Valve and Bethesda are now allowing modders of Skyrim to charge for their mods.  Mod creators can now set prices on their mods (including free), split revenue – the mod creator gets 25% – and of course bicker constantly over who stole what, complete with fully legal and endorsed DMC Takedown Notices.

This was announced a few days ago, so the monstrous whirlwind of backlash has been a good read as well.  It has been described as a “carefully calculated mistake,” “the stupid thing of all time,” and “PC MASTER RACE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE.”  (I love internet commenters.)

Plus, the mods.  Most of them are exactly what you would picture white male Skyrimmers making.  Lots of revealing female armor, Gokus, and My Little Ponys.

Source that is totally worth a read, just for the comments.
