Super Smash Bros. 3DS getting Amiibo update tomorrow

This week is a busy week for Nintendo with their NEW 3DS XL launching this Friday along with Majora’s Mask 3D and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.  Tomorrow February 10th, Super Smash Bros. 3DS will receive an update to enable Amiibo support just ahead of the NEW 3DS XL release so adopters of their newest handheld can take advantage of their Amiibo Collection in Smash.

Nintendo has stated that they will be releasing an add-on peripheral for the older 3DS, 3DS XL and 2DS systems that will allow those units to take advantage of the Amiibo functionality.  There has not been any price details or even a release date of this peripheral as of yet and we will be sure to keep you informed as we get the information.  Check back here at GameGravy for the latest news and reviews!
