PSN Class Action Settlement Info

Remember the big bad Sony hack?  Not the recent one by Lizard Squad, but the one way back in 2011 that crippled PSN, resulted in failed launches of games, and gave us all a free copy of Little Big Planet?  They say the wheels of justice turn slowly – here we are, 4 years later, finally getting our class action suit.

You can get a few different things based on the severity of your personal victimization, with stuff like

  • Cash payment equal to the amount you had in your wallet
  • Choice of a free PS3 or PSP game
  • 3 months of Playstation Plus
  • 1 month of Qriosity (which is a dumb name for a music service, but whatever)
  • $4.50 in SOE Station Cash

This stuff does come with a few caveats, though.  For instance, if you choose the cash payment, it closes your PSN account – so only do that if you’re really sure you want to lose all your sweet, sweet trophies.  The choice of a free game is from a limited selection –

  • Dead Nation (PS3)
  • inFamous (PS3)
  • Little Big Planet (PS3)
  • Super Stardust HD (PS3)
  • rain (PS3)
  • Puppeteer (PS3)
  • Invizimals (PS3)
  • God of War HD
  • Little Big Planet (PSP)
  • ModNation Racers (PSP)
  • Patapon 3 (PSP)
  • Killzone Liberation (PSP)
  • Wipeout Pure (PSP)
  • Syphon Filter Dark Mirror (PSP)

There’s also the option to choose 3 free PS3 themes, or get 3 months of Playstation Plus – but only if you’re not a current Plus subscriber.

The site to get in on this is PSNSOESettlement.com and you need to file before August 31.
