Xbox 720 and PS4 Beta sites are scams Sony and Microsoft Warn

You’ve seen it on Facebook, people are liking the hell out of these beta sites for PS4 and the Xbox 720 claiming they can get you into the beta test program. They ask you for your personal info and promise to keep you up to date. Well, this is fake and a scam.

All PlayStation 4 beta websites are fake, Sony made clear to gamers today.

“Just a reminder: Any sites asking you to enter details to sign up for PS4 beta testing are scams,” the company tweeted today.

Microsoft also claimed the same and Larry Hyrb aka Major Nelson at Microsoft said the following in a tweet:

Confirmed: All sign-up pages for testing the “next Xbox” are FAKE. Do not give them your information — it’s a scam.

— Larry Hryb (@majornelson)

So, with that said please don’t give your information out to these beta sites.

The PS4 is speculated to launch this holiday season, though Sony has yet to reveal a price or region availability details for the next-generation platform.

Microsoft has not yet announced its heavily rumored next-generation platform. The Xbox 720 is rumored to be announced during a one-off event in April, with both the Xbox 720 and PS4 believed to be available in stores this holiday.
