Hold on to your MegaBuster’s kids. Capcom today has announced that they are bringing together two of their most beloved franchises in a new 8-bit style game. And best of all, it’s FREE. Yeah, I can’t believe it either. It’s releasing December 17th exclusively on PC and can be downloaded directly from the Capcom-Unity Mega Man page. The game, developed by a Capcom superfan from Singapore, is the perfect celebration of the end of the Street Fighter 25th anniversary and the beginning of the Mega Man 25th anniversary.
Along with the game, a new soundtrack will combine classic Mega Man and Street Fighter tunes to create a veritable retro feast for your ears. This looks like an amazing treat for fans like me, and hopefully it will come to more platforms in the future, free or otherwise.
