So normally I don’t say much about the PSN store updates unless there’s something particularly noteworthy, but tomorrow’s update notes have already caught my eye.
- GTA3, after being pulled last minute over some music licensing issues, has been confirmed for release tomorrow. This is the game that basically created the open-world genre, and although it hasn’t aged amazingly well in graphics, everything else about it still holds water. Sit in your car and listen to talk radio. Hours of entertainment, right there.
- DOA5 – Jiggle Physics™ and fist-fights! We’ll have our official review up, most likely by Sunday!
- FIFA 13 – It’s soccer season again! Score points for your team and rank up to win the World Series of Soccer! Or whatever.
- One Piece: Pirate Warriors – The GameGravy Florida office is a big fan of Tecmo Koei’s brand of action insanity, so we’ll have more on this one in the future.
- Mirror’s Edge – First-person parkour; a fluid, gorgeous, underhyped game. The fighting is poor, but the running is an experience. Think of Brink, only better.
- Tokyo Jungle – You play as a Pomeranian in a humanless Tokyo. My deep research into this game (Wikipedia!) tells me that humans have left, so all the animals are in it for themselves. Never heard of it, but it sounds… interesting. You can bet someone here will have a review up of it soon.
- Starhawk, Final Fantasy 3, inFamous, and Ratchet and Clank round out what else is coming out tomorrow, in addition to all the stuff that PSN updates with. Trailers, avatars, demos, and PS3 themes of girls not wearing much. Ya know, the usual.
This looks to be a pretty good update, one that might actually peel a few people away from Borderlands 2 for a day or so.
