Steams Big Picture…Steam on your TV

This is a huge bit of news that is awesome . Steam’s new update that will work on your TV, Big Picture. So, you’ll still need a PC to hook in your TV via HDMI, which was disappointing to me at first. I thought this would work as an app on PS3 or Xbox 360 but hang in there keep reading. However, this will be compatible with an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, Xbox 360 Wired Controller, or Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710 which is recommended. If all else fails you can still use a Keyboard and mouse but what’s the point in that if you are sitting on your couch right?! So, this is still a useful update for Steam. The fact they are taking into account people that want to play console games really helps, they may even adapt this for the future with their own console. Hell with all their deals I would get it and ditch the rest.

Overall, this is a novell idea, they’ve adjusted a lot of things especially typing with controllers, that mapping looks incredible. I personally tend to stay away from that but based on the video, I would definitely give it a try. Check out the video below for the details.

Check out Big Picture, Steam’s new mode that lets gamers access all of their favorite Steam games on a television. With the press of a button, Steam displays a new full-screen user interface optimized for readability and interaction on TV. Big Picture has been designed to be used with a traditional game controller, while also fully supporting keyboard and mouse input.
